Public Service- Fire
The Public Service Academy Fire program is a one year program based on curriculum provided by the Alabama Fire College. The curriculum is based off NFPA 1001, Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications.
Once the student completes the class and passes all the required tests they will be eligible to receive the Volunteer Firefighter Certification. The program provides a broad exposure to fire ground operations and other fire department related topics. Students spend a majority of their time in hands-on training applications.

This is a physically demanding course that requires the student to work in teams to accomplish a common goal. This course prepares the high school student with the basic knowledge of what it would be like to work in the fire service.
